Canada USAYesterday, the US Under-18 Women’s National Team beat the Canadian at the world championships over in Germany. I genuinely feel bad for all of the Canadian girls. After having the chance to meet and work with them over the course of the year, I know how much effort, energy and enthusiasm they put in to preparing for these international contests against their biggest rivals. With all the professionalism and polish these players show on and off the ice, I sometimes forget that they are still in high school. Each and every one of them have all the on-ice ability they need to have an amazing hockey career. But it’s the ones who focus on being the best off the ice as well that will truly be great.

When was the last time you told someone that they were great? We all need to be validated once in a while, don’t we? I watched this great video about the amazing power of validation yesterday and even though it’s a little cheesy, and 16 minutes long, I promise you that it’s worth watching. Enjoy!

Take the time to tell someone what makes them great today. It might just change their life.
