What goals do you want to achieve as a female hockey player? Are you shooting high enough? Watch this video to see exactly what I mean.

My favorite line from this speech deserves repeating (and bold letters):

Most people don’t fail in life because they shoot too high and miss…

They fail because they shoot too low and hit.

Dramatically increase your goals on and off the ice.

What are your 3 BIG goals for this off-season?

Is it to get stronger?

To get faster?

To become the best girls hockey player possible?

Whatever your hockey goals are, I want you to THINK BIGGER!

Dream Bigger. Work Harder. Leave Your Mark.

Over the course of this past weekend, all of the elite women’s hockey leagues in North America awarded their championship trophy. Three of the best women’s hockey teams in the world, with rosters jam-packed with Olympians and national team members, won their respective championships this weekend. I watched parts of every championship game and it is the best female hockey I have seen in a long time. But the sad part is, that very few girls hockey players even knew these games were going on.

Womens Hockey ChampionshipYesterday was a great day for women’s hockey - at least for me. My former college team, Dartmouth, won the ECAC Hockey Championship (see picture). I was so pumped after hearing about their big win, that I had the one of the best training session I’ve had in a long time today. The sad thing is that…

Your Super Success Story

Posted by Kim

Championship TrophyLike millions of other sport fans across the world, I watched the Super Bowl last night. I have to admit that I don’t find football as interesting to watch as hockey, but when one of the biggest sporting events in the world is on, I feel compelled to watch. There is nothing more inspiring than seeing players battle it out on the biggest stage in hopes of achieving their lifelong dream and write their ultimate success story.

Girls Hockey Fitness TestingI have to admit - I was one of those female hockey players who actually liked fitness testing. Although I didn’t exactly enjoy the entire (painful) process, it was great to know where I stood relative to my last test and see how I measured up against my teammates and my competition.

Today was a fitness testing day for me. I will be testing every month between now and the start of my season, and after traveling for most of January, I was a little nervous that I wouldn’t perform my best. Everything went well and now I know exactly where I stand and what my BIG goal is for the next month - to increase my performance by 5% in my next test. So how am I going to get there?

New Years List2009 is only 3 days away. The start of the New Year means the start of the 2nd half of the girls hockey season. The games get more intense and more important. It doesn’t matter if you are at the top of your game or at the bottom of the standings. There is still a lot of time left to turn your season around and take your game to the next level.

The first ever Total Female Hockey Transformation Contest ends at midnight on January 1st. And the 2nd contest will start on Monday, January 5th.

The new contest is all about goal “setting” and goal “getting”.

The more specific you are with what you want to achieve in the 2nd half of the season, the more success you will have. Just saying, “I want to be the best”, isn’t enough.
