I have to admit, I HATE watching baseball on TV. No matter how hard I try, I can’t help but channel surf the whole time. I used to go to Jays’ games back in their glory days in the ‘90s, so I don’t mind in-person baseball. Even though I find TV baseball mind-numbing, this video about a hockey goalie taking up baseball is HILARIOUS…
Just a little hockey humor to get you through Friday - the “hoser” comment is genius.
I may not like watching baseball on TV, but it is a great sport for developing hand-eye coordination, speed, power and reaction time. All girls hockey players need to play other sports this summer so that they can develop the all-around athleticism they need to compete at the next level on and off the ice. There are certain sports that give you a better “bang for your buck” in terms of developing athleticism (soccer, lacrosse, martial arts), but the truth is, anything is better than playing MORE HOCKEY in the summer.
Take a break from the rink, play some other sports, and of course, do your off-ice training.
Work Hard. Dream BIG.
