2009 is only 3 days away. The start of the New Year means the start of the 2nd half of the girls hockey season. The games get more intense and more important. It doesn’t matter if you are at the top of your game or at the bottom of the standings. There is still a lot of time left to turn your season around and take your game to the next level.
The first ever Total Female Hockey Transformation Contest ends at midnight on January 1st. And the 2nd contest will start on Monday, January 5th.
The new contest is all about goal “setting” and goal “getting”.
The more specific you are with what you want to achieve in the 2nd half of the season, the more success you will have. Just saying, “I want to be the best”, isn’t enough.
Your goals have to be SPECIFIC if you want to take your performance to the next level.
What are you SPECIFICALLY going to do in practices and games to ensure that you play your best? What goals are you going to set off the ice in terms of your mental preparation, nutrition and off-ice training to make sure that you “get” those on-ice performance goals?
2009 is all about preparing for performance.
And the biggest key to your preparation is setting the goals that are going to get you from where you are now to where you want to be.
Setting goals will give you focus.
Getting those goals will give you confidence to set even bigger goals.
Daily, weekly, monthly and season-long goals are all important. But I want you to focus on your daily goals between now and the end of the season.
What are you going to do on a daily basis to be great?
Start writing down your goals for 2009 today and stay tuned for next Monday’s announcement of the brand-new Total Female Hockey “Turn Your Season Around” Contest.
Work Hard. Dream BIG.
~ Coach Kim

I’ve got a practice tonight. I’m working hard on my goals. Tonight will be tough because it is really cold out. I’m still going to try hard and show everyone how important it is too try hard even when it’s cold.
See ya!
Amy
I’m going to improve my nutrition all of the time, try to gey a lot of sleep, and focus on making the tiny things the best. This means hitting every pass, hitting every shot, skating as hard as I can. I suggested to my team mom that our team should have a mental preparation period before each game, and now we do it before every game. It really has improved our game.
