Today I am going to go outside the female hockey world and share with you one of the best hockey success stories I have heard and seen in a long time.

This player is an NCAA National Champion and the US College Hockey Player of the Year. He is a goalie and he is his team’s captain.

At 5 foot 6 and 150 lbs, he is the smallest player in NCAA Division 1 Hockey. He also has such severe asthma that he has to breathe into a machine before and after every single ice session and off-ice workout. He may be small and he may have asthma - but he doesn’t suffer from either.

It doesn’t matter whether you are a male or female hockey player or what position you play. You have to watch this video. You will be inspired to take your game to a whole new level.

Here’s what Lerg’s coach said of his star goalie:

“What separates Lerg from everyone else isn’t the obstacles he faces, but rather the work ethic and desire he has to overcome them…He doesn’t take anything for granted. He doesn’t cut corners. He shows up early. He stays late. He’s the hardest working guy on this team…He demands excellence from himself in absolutely everything he does.”

Each and every day, Lerg is proving to himself that he can accomplish anything that he sets his mind to. He inspires his teammates to be their best on a daily basis. He achieves everything he dreams of.

AND SO CAN YOU.

Work Hard. Dream BIG. Believe You Can.

Tonight I didn’t have a great practice. I was at my Grandma and Granpas for a dinner with my Aunt and Uncle for a Christmas dinner. We had snacks and lamb and a lot of other food. I skipped desert, but I got a stomach ache during practice. I did ok, but not my best. I realize now how important it is to not eat too much before a game.
