So by now you should have the one-minute hockey warm-up down pat, right?  Is it starting to get a little repetitive? Ready to try something a little bit more hockey-specific?

Check out the latest version of the 1 minute hockey warm-up below:

In the new edition of the one-minute warm-up, you’ll use four new
exercises that are a little more hockey-specific and can still be done
by your entire team inside the dressing room.  Which is a good thing
since it is starting to get mighty cold up here in Toronto, and it will be
hard to warm-up outside in a few weeks once there are a few inches of
snow on the ground.

Of course it is always better to do a complete 15 minute warm-up than this 1 minute version.  But when you don’t have that much time, this short version will do the trick.

Here’s that sequence again:

=>  20 “in and outs”

=>  10 side lunges (5 on each leg)

=>  20 “foot switches”

=>  10 side kicks (5 on each leg)

Now that you’ve seen both versions of the 1 minute off-ice warm-up, you can put both of them together into a 2 minute version when you have a little bit more time.

(Click here to check out the “old” one-minute warm-up).

Because if you’ve got one minute to spare, you’ve probably got two.

Keep me posted on how it goes.

    This will be so helpfull on the days where I’m rushing from one sport to another, it takes me so long to get dressed in all my gear that this will help.

    Thanks Kim

    Hi- that looks cool. I usually do your old one plus running side lunge things and big leaps. Yesterday I went to bed before there was a post. I am on the second phase of the TFH program. I’m really enjoying it and I feel like I’m getting stronger. I also did about 60 fast presses with hand weights, 30 extra sit ups twisting my elbows to my knees and about 40 fast push ups. Oh, I did 15 minutes on the eliptical too.

    Today I did stretching and ran sprints. Tomorrow we have a big practice which will be the last before our big Canada tournament. I can’t wait! I want to leave tomorrow but it isn’t safe to drive at night because of deer and moose. That means I’ll have to get up really early. At least I get to skip a day of school. I’ll takre all of my Friday tests tomorrow so I don’t have them to worry about.

    Oh, my favorite food to eat before a game is a banana, baby oranges and some yogurt. IS that too much sugar? I usually have a can of V8 too.
    Seeya!
