This is the first installment of Total Female Hockey Club’s Success Story Sunday.

To kick off this new feature, I wanted to share with you one of the biggest success stories I experienced in my hockey career. The picture below shows my college hockey team, Dartmouth (Go Big Green!), celebrating our HUGE upset victory against the Harvard, who was the #1 ranked team in the entire country at the time.

Girls Hockey Success Story

This moment stands out as one of the greatest memories of my entire hockey career.

I can still remember jumping up and down in that huddle with my teammates and screaming at the top of my lungs like it was yesterday. This was sweet revenge against our arch enemies - not only were they our Ivy League rivals, but they had beat us 8-0 in the league quarter-finals the year before on their way to winning the national championship.

And you know what the best part was? We beat them in their own rink on the same night that they raised their championship banner to the rafters!

Talk about a fairy tale ending - it really can’t get much better than that.

What’s your greatest girls hockey success story?

–> Did you pull off a huge upset, like we did?

–> Did you score your first hat-trick?

–> Did you stop 40 shots in a 1-0 shut-out?

–> Did you have an undefeated season?

Whatever it is, I want to hear about it.
