One huge challenge for girls hockey players is staying focused out on the ice. Here’s how you make it happen.
It is so much easier to stay on track and reach your goals when there is just ONE THING that you are really focused on working on that day. If every time you hit the ice, you are focusing on improving just ONE THING, all of those “little” things are going to eventually make a HUGE difference in your performance.
What are you going to focus on today? How is it going to help you take your game to the next level?

The last couple of games I’ve been focusing on controlling dump-ins, during my tournament thanksgiving weekend I let in two shots from center and haven’t told anyone except for those that were in Kelowna and saw it happen. Tonight at my game, if I play, I’ll focus on not oversliding when I make a butterfly side across my crease and if I don’t play, I’ll focus on not just saying good job everytime someone comes off the ice, but rather I’ll pay close attention to the game and noticed a good play or something or constructive criticism to tell a player when she comes off the ice.
