Watching the final of the 100m finals at the Olympics this morning was awesome.
Usain Bolt blew away the competition and made a world-record race look easy.
In the qualifying races leading up to the final, Bolt looked like he had put it in autopilot and won each sprint easily. He is clearly head and shoulders above every other sprinter in Beijing.
Not only does Bolt have phenomenal talent - he has tremendous confidence in his abilities.
The look in his eyes throughout every race said it all - he was going to win and there was nothing anyone else could do to stop him.
Imagine how the other 7 sprinters in that final race felt before the start gun went off knowing that they were really racing for the silver?
Imagine what it would be like if every other player was in complete awe of your abilities?
Imagine that each time you walk into the rink or step out on the ice, everyone stops in their tracks and whispers to their neighbor, “She is the real deal”.
If you are willing to imagine such a thing, you can make it happen.
Sure, you’ll need to develop the on-ice skills and off-ice conditioning to compete with the best female hockey players in the world.
But you must also imagine yourself being world-class with such intensity, clarity and intention, that the end result is inevitable.
Just as Bolt knew that the gold medal was his this morning, you must know that you can become the best player in the world.
It is possible.
By mixing your physical ability with unwavering confidence, you can make it happen.
