Did you know that the brown UPS trucks turn right 90% of the time they are on the road?

The company calculated that the time they spent waiting to make left hand turns burned millions of dollars in extra fuel every year. So they adopted a “right turns only” policy.

That’s not to say that they never turn left, but they try to find routes that allow their drivers to turn right as much as possible.

Now you are probably asking, “What does this have to do with training, Kim?”

It’s all about EFFICIENCY.

UPS has found a way to make their delivery process as efficient as possible.

And that the same thing that I have done with my summer training program.

This off-season program has successfully addressed the hockey-specific speed, strength and conditioning needs of almost every single player I have worked with over the course of the last 10 years.

In fact, I would say this program has worked well over 90% of the time.

So why start turning “left” when turning “right” works so well?

Until next time,

Kim
