Flip your Complete Off-Season Training Program open to the Advanced level exercises for Total Hockey Strength.

Those exercises don’t look too hard right? You could probably do them right now without doing all the training that is scheduled in between.

But just because you can perform a particular exercise or drill, it doesn’t mean that you should be!

There are still over 3 months left in the off-season. You have well over 12 weeks to take your game to the next level.

Your desire to succeed leads you to want to push yourself while training. That’s great news…but training isn’t always about pushing yourself to the limit (I learned this the hard way!).

Remember, you are building a foundation for all of your future hockey success…and that takes time, effort and focus.

That being said, some players have more experience with girls hockey training than others and may be able to progress through the levels in less than 6 workouts.

How do you know if you are ready to progress?…

If you are “perfect”!

If you can perform all the exercises and drills with perfect form (and without muscular fatigue) for all of the repetitions outlined in the program, then you may be ready to progress to the next difficulty level.

(NOTE: This does NOT mean that you go directly from Beginner - Introduction to Intermediate - Advanced. You can move up one level at a time. So if you have “perfected” Beginner - Introduction in 2 workouts, you can move to Beginner - Progression.)

If you feel completely confident that I would watch you do the workout and give you a “10 out of 10″ on your performance, than you may be ready to move on.

But what are you in such a rush for?

Hopefully, your hockey career will be a long one.

Why not take the time to build the solid foundation of strength and stability you need to excel on the ice in the fall and for years to come?

Become the best player possible this summer by giving yourself time to improve.

Until next time,

Kim

  1. CCMHats says:

So, should I NOT progress to the next workout in the series if I can’t perform each drill with perfect form and without muscular fatigue?

Because my muscles are pretty sore right now…
