Single-leg balance is the most fundamental component of developing game-breaking speed.

There are 3 keys to mastering basic single-leg balance:

• Hips Back
• Knee Bent
• Chest Up

Not only is single-leg balance critical for speed development - it is also one of the easiest concepts to teach and train OFF the ice.

‘Getting low’ can be a difficult concept for young players to grasp when they are on the ice, as it is much more difficult to assume a low balanced position while in skates than standing on the ground.

Master single-leg balance off the ice and watch your on-ice performance soar.

So…how low can you go?

Until next time,

Kim
